The search volume of a keyword
The term search volume refers to the (usually monthly) query of a keyword in the search engine (Google). The figures can fluctuate greatly and are to be taken as an approximate estimate. The search volume for some search terms also changes depending on the time of year (e.g. Christmas cards). The search volume can be used to roughly determine the expected traffic. This makes search volume an important factor in SEO marketing and online marketing.
How do I find the search volume
You can use the Google AdWords Keyword Planner or Google Trends as free tools. Unfortunately, the data is very volatile and quite inaccurate. We recommend using either Xovi or Sistrix. Both tools are chargeable but provide you with fairly accurate data in the search queries. Start with the Google tools and familiarize yourself with the subject matter. Of course, you can also commission us to compile a precise list of the search volume. It is particularly important to focus on the right keywords when launching a website.
Why is it important to know the search volume
If I write a post and want to attract a lot of visitors, I have to focus on the right keywords. Of course, a keyword with a high search volume and low competitor strength would be best. That would be a perfect keyword to include in my post. This gives you the opportunity to achieve a better position in the search engines.
Why the search volume is changing
As described above, search volumes can change at any time, depending on many factors such as current trends that are going out of fashion or the time of year. It is understandable that a swimsuit is bought more in summer than in winter. It is important to understand these fluctuations so that you can adapt your contributions accordingly.
What if I ignore the search volume
Then it can happen that when you write a post or article, no visitors reach it. What good is a top position on Google if nobody searches for it? I think you can answer this question without any problems.
