What I had already hinted at in the last few weeks now seems to have actually been realized. Manual indexing is no longer possible. We had observed that it had been relatively difficult to index new content recently. Changes to the pages or fundamental changes to the description have not been changed by Google to this day. This has made it relatively difficult to make changes quickly and as usual.
Today the following message appeared in the Search Console :
As of October 14, the Request indexing function has been deactivated in order to make some technical updates. We expect it to be reactivated in the coming weeks. In the meantime, Google continues to find and index content using our regular methods.
What exactly is behind it?
We are not sure but suspect that there are technical problems related to a new Google update. Since a new choir update may soon be available, indexing could currently be switched off due to various adjustments. It should be noted that this is only one possible explanation for switching off manual indexing.
How long does it now take to index new websites?
This is another question that we can only answer with a big question mark. It may be possible that Google finds new websites faster with its crawler because manual indexing has been switched off. However, assuming that indexing takes place at the same time as before the shutdown, it can take up to two months for the new website to appear in Google results.
What alternatives are there to Search Console?
You have the option of using a ping tool with which you can inform Google directly from your website or your sitemap that there is news about the indexing of your website. We are currently testing the extent to which this function will then be executed. As soon as more detailed results are available, we will inform you in this article.
